In Zambia there are many children in need of help and at the Beit CURE children's hospital they are offered free medical care. Since the children are very poor, they cannot afford to go to the hospital. Here, HOPE587 helps.
In the fall of 2018, we received information that there are many children who are ready to enter for a free operation at Beit CURE Hospital. Since the children's hospital is one of the few hospitals in Zambia that meets the surgical needs of children with disabilities, many have a very long journey and at the same time cannot afford to go there as they are very poor. We at HOPE587 were asked if we could help in any way.
Together with the hospital, we arrange for a bus to drive out and pick up children who cannot afford their own journey. They also get a meal on the road as the ride is usually quite long. We replace the driver and pay the fuel. There is space for 22 patients on the bus.
The total cost for a child to be able to come to the hospital and then back home is about SEK 500. Also one of their parents or caretakers may accompany them.
Many children have already come to the hospital through the donations made to HOPE587. There are still many children waiting and we hope that you would like to join us so that we togehther can help as many as possible.
